I am currently organising a class to prepare for the proficiency exam in June 2014. The plan is to start the class after Christmas.
As always, the idea is to get together one or two groups of four students (this reduces the price but is also an ideal number). Dates and timetable are negotiable, but I would anticipate starting in January and continuing until the exam, either with one two-hour class per week or two classes a week of one and a half hours each.
The date of the exam is the 12th of June, which provides five months for preparation.
In the past year and a half eight of my students have entered for the exam and 6 have passed, so my students have a success rate of 75%.
The class is principally about exam preparation, which means we will work on exam techniques, we will focus on writing skills and the language focus will be very much on those areas of grammar and vocabulary that are particularly useful when doing the proficiency exam.
